Our loving father, grandfather and friend, Norman Dean Peterson passed away June 5th, 2011 peacefully surrounded by his family. Dean was born on December 14, 1925 to Jesse Y. Peterson and Martha Purdy. Dean graduated from Kemmerer High School in 1943 and attended Weber College for 2 years, graduating with a certificate. He was married to Elizabeth Mimi Povsche on October 11, 1952 in Diamondville, Wyoming. Dean worked on the railroad before he became a Lab Technician for El Paso Natural Gas Company where he worked for 14 years. His hobbies included driving, Western music, camping, playing and watching basketball- especially the Utah Jazz, and eating anything chocolate! Dean was very handy around the house- he could fix or build anything. Dean is survived by his wife Mimi, children: Jeaneane J. Fortune (Roy), Norman Dan Peterson, Don J. Peterson (Sheri), and D. Jan Lopez (Scott) and his grandchildren: Eric, Janelle, Tanya, Aaron, Mitchel, and Garrett. Dean is preceded in death by: daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Tiffany and Jacob, parents and all of his brothers and sisters. A funeral will be held at the Washington LDS Stake Center, in Washington Utah, on 466 Mangum at 3 pm on June 8th with a viewing starting at 1:30 pm. He will then be buried in the Diamondville, Wyoming Cemetery at 3 pm on June 9th.
