O. James Gornichec
Our beloved father, Otmar James Gornichec, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 29, 2008 in Provo, Utah. He was born in Trzic, Yugoslavia on April 20, 1914 to Dusan and Antonia Ehrenbrandtner Gornichec. He married Margaret Forsyth Johnson in Price, Utah in 1937.
James started his career as a barber at the age of 11, finishing his career at age of 91. He was a barber in Orem, Utah for 35 years and in St. George for another 30 years. He was steady as a rock right up until the end. He loved to build and remodel things and to work in his yard and travel.
He is survived by his sons Jim (Terry) Gornichec, Ardmore, Oklahoma; Barry (Nola) Gornichec, Spanish Fork, Utah; Roger (Vicki) Gornichec, San Diego, California and daughter-in-law Deann Gornichec, Provo, Utah. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and son Richard Gornichec.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.
