Orvie is the daughter of Richard Osmer and Sarah Jane Howarth Luke. She came to this earth on August 10th, 1919 in Provo Utah, and departed on February 13th, 2009. Halloween was one of her favorite holidays, so it is very fitting that she slipped out of this life on Friday the 13th and was with her sweetheart for a spiritual Valentines celebration. She began a life of church service at the age of 12, when she became the primary pianist. From there out she always played for at least one LDS organization. She was the choir pianist in Jr. High and High School, and played for the school dances. She graduated from Provo High School in 1937. In the fall of that year she was hired by the Franklin School as a secretary and pianist. She was working there when she met the love of her life- Rhodes Jeppesen. It was like a continuation of her job. She played for him to sing, and was a secretary to his businesses. They raised 6 children, all of whom are surviving; Jay Rhodes, Karen Jane (Crow), Chris, Marian (Jonas), John, and Colleen (Rasmussen). She is also survived by her sweet sister Nina Prestwich, and many grand and great grand children. A viewing will be held Thursday February 19th from 6-8 pm at the Orchard Stake Center, 3599 South Orchard Dr. Bountiful, Utah. The viewing on Friday will be at the Lakeview Stake Center in Orem, Utah on 4th West and 18th South. It will begin at 12:00 noon with the service following at 1:30 pm. Interment will be at the Provo Cemetery. Special thanks to Bristol Hospice and North Canyon Care Center.
