Patrick Dee Cox 1952~2010 Our beloved father and grandfather Patrick Dee Cox, 58, from Spanish Fork, was reunited with his Mom and Dad in heaven on July 15th, 2010. Pat was born April 10th, 1952 in Montebello, CA, in the county of LA to William Smith Cox and Helen Marie Bliss.
He was survived by 3 brothers, Michael Ray, Dennis Smith, Dee Vernon; 2 sisters, Pamela Jennings, Allison Marie Mayer; 3 daughters, Tiffany Lee Murphy, Jenny Lynn Christensen, Teresa Marie Roberts; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Pat grew up in West Covina, CA. with his 5 siblings, one of which was his twin sister, Pam. He moved to Ephraim, UT to attend Snow College and met Debbra LuDean Peterson. They got married in the Manti Temple on Sept. 11th, 1971. Pat received his education at Snow College and Denver Diesel and Automotive College. He was a hard worker and worked for over 38 years as a diesel and automotive mechanic, owning his own 24 hr mobile service business for part of that time. Pat knew the value of hard honest work and strongly believed in the principles of honoring your commitments and following through on what you say your going to do, as well as always doing your best. When he was younger, he never missed a day of work, even when he was sick with a fever. He was also never late. He would always arrive at least an hour early everyday.
Pat enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a love for the mountains, animals, peaceful motorcycle rides up the canyon, beautiful sunsets, peaceful music, spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, and he loved his french fries! He learned to cook and enjoyed watching the cooking channel and discovering new recipes. He also loved to share those recipes with others. He was an expert when it came to barbequing. He made the best lemon pepper rotisserie chicken you could ever sink your teeth into! He put Bobby Flay to shame!
While Pat was well organized, dedicated, and committed, he was also very fun loving. He was always a tease and enjoyed practical jokes. His friends and family enjoyed his sense of humor and his lighthearted nature. He was full of wisdom and love and always had a listening ear. He was the best dad and grandpa anyone could ever have and we are lucky that he was ours.
We love you dad and we'll miss you very much! Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21st at 11am in Spanish Fork at the Spanish Vista ward chapel located at 1167 S. 1700 E.. Visitations will be held prior to the services, from 9:30am to 11:00am.
