OGDEN- Paul Thomas Brennan, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer on October 20, 2006.
Paul was born on June 16, 1947, in Braddock, PA to Paul Leroy Brennan and Ruth Marie Pinge. He grew up in the Pennsylvania and Ogden areas, graduating from Ogden High in 1967. He was proud to be an Ogden High Tiger, lettering in football and participating in the 1966 State Championship.
Paul served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was awarded two purple hearts for his courage and bravery while defending his country. He married Christine Cash on March 18, 1978 in Ogden. He was employed at Defense Depot Ogden and retired in 2002 after 21 years of service.
He was a sports enthusiast and a faithful fan of the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed exercising, family road trips, reading and spending time with his loved ones. He especially adored the time shared with his granddaughter, Abby. She was Papa's sunshine.
Paul is survived by his wife of 28 years, Chris, of Ogden; two daughters, Nicole (Eric) Evans, Layton; Rachel (Matt) Durrant, Roy; one granddaughter, Abigail, plus one grandchild arriving in March 2007.
Paul was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of Paul's amazing health care specialists during his battle with cancer. They sincerely appreciate the Applegate Hospice nurses and aids that so lovingly assisted Paul during the last weeks of his life.
Family will meet friends at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd, on Monday, October 23, 2006 from 1 pm to 2 pm. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Applegate Homecare & Hospice.
