Paul John Schneller

Paul John Schneller, age 70, passed away peacefully in his home in Salt Lake City, UT on July 14th, 2024, surrounded by his family. Paul had recently been diagnosed with stomach cancer which took him from his family all too soon. He was enjoying his retirement with the love of his life Susan Hession Schneller. They had been happily married for over 40 years. The two of them were inseparable and spent every minute together and he wouldn’t have had it any other way. 

Paul was a lover of music, and always had music playing in his house. He loved attending concerts and had a legendary music collection on vinyl. He was an avid gardener and always looked forward to spring and summer, because he loved tending to his veggies, flowers and other plants and he was always proud of his harvest. Paul loved all animals. He knew the name of every dog and cat in his neighborhood and made sure he acknowledged each one on his daily walks with his dog Vinnie. He especially loved watching and feeding the birds outside his kitchen window. 

Known for his unmatched quick-wit and teasing nature which was always followed by his genuine laugh that was so contagious. Paul had a big heart with so much compassion for those around him. He taught his kids and grandkids a love for the great outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing or just spending time in the mountains and lakes. Paul had an amazing spirit and will be missed by all that knew him. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, his two children Elizabeth (Chris) and Gram (Melissa), his two grandchildren Nicole and Samuel, his brothers Mark (Patti) and Calvin (Chriss, daughter Jessica) as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cal and Beatrice and brother Greg. 

A Celebration of Life will be held, with a date to be determined, to honor Paul and commemorate his wonderful life.
