Paula Karr Wampler
A memorable voice from Indianapolis radio past, Paula Karr Wampler, died August 22, 2009 in Park City, Utah after a brief illness.
Known professionally as Paula Carr, she led the popularity charts as a WIRE radio star from the mid 1940's to 1955 when she wed Hoosier pro golfing icon Fred Wampler, Jr. She pioneered celebrity remote radio talk shows locally with her week day morning program, "Breakfast with Paula" originating from the coffee shop of the historic Claypool Hotel, along with a wide range of other broadcast achievements.
After their marriage, the Wamplers resided in St. Louis, Missouri and later in Denver, Colorado where Fred was the head golf pro at the Denver Country Club. In the past 25 years Paula has lived in Denver, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her final home was in Park City, Utah with her surviving daughter, LeeAnne Wampler Feddersen, son-in-law Kris and grandchildren Ella and Luke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wampler, Jr. in 1984 and daughter Karla Wampler Martin in 2005.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Salvation Army. A private service will be held at a later date.

Paula Karr Wampler
Paula Karr Wampler passed away in Park City, Utah on August 22, 2009. She was born in 1927 to Pauline Gerding and Bryan Karr in Dallas, Texas. She later lived in Indianapolis, Indiana where she had a career in radio broadcasting. It was there that she met her future husband, PGA touring professional Fred Wampler Jr. and they were married in 1955. The Wampler's resided in Denver, Colorado from 1966-1984. Paula then resided in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for the next 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and her daughter Karla Wampler Martin, and is survived by her daughter LeeAnne Wampler Feddersen, son-in-law Kris 'Fuzz' Feddersen and grandchildren Ella and Luke Feddersen of Park City Utah. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army. A private service will be held at a later date.
