Pauline Lerwill Johnson

Pauline Lerwill Johnson passed away from congestive heart failure, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 26, 2007 in Orem, Utah.
She was born January 17, 1926 to Lee Marcus Lerwill and Merlene Stevenson in Provo, Utah. Pauline graduated from Provo High School in 1944 and went to work for JCPenney in the advertising department. While working there, she met the love of her life, Harold Clark Johnson. They were married April 28, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on October 13, 1950.

Mom dedicated her life to taking care of her family and home. She loved to garden, cook and sew. She was very resourceful, hardworking and supportive of her husband in good times and in bad. They were always together and had a very loving and close relationship. Pauline worked for 10 years at ZCMI and had to retire due to Meniere's disease. Shortly thereafter, she was diagnosed with Lymphoma which she fought and overcame. Mother had a great testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Primary President, Young Women's President and Relief Society President; where she faithfully served the women of the Edgemont 12th Ward. She enjoyed working at the Provo Temple with her husband in her later years. She loved her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren very much and her greatest desire is to see them live the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her children: Carolyn (Mike) Taylor, Springville; Suanne (Blake) Bird, St. George; Cathy Hurst, Las Vegas, NV; Sherry (Jeff) Seamons, Provo; Julie (Dean) Miller, Huntington; John (Lara) Johnson, Provo; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way.

She was happily reunited with her husband, parents, sister, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2nd at 11am at the Edgemont South Stake Center. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30am. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to all those who helped care for our mother, especially the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.
