Pearl Evelyn Bruce returned to the arms of her heavenly father on December 5, 2011. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 27, 2011. We all love you, and will miss you very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Bruce, Sr. and Evelyn Bruce. She is survived by her sister Lucy Baird and brother Harry Bruce, Jr. (Christy), and 7 nieces and nephews.
Pearl was born with white hair and bright blue eyes. She was always tall and skinny and she loved long hair. It's kind of funny, she didn't change much over the years. Everyone always loved her. She was always cheerful and funny. She always loved people and would help anyone in need.
She started working when she was about 10 years old (tending kids). She worked at Kress when she was 14 or 15 and didn't stop working until December 5,2011.
She has always had many good friends. She loved working at the Iron Horse, the Black Bull and many other Clubs. She made many good friends there.
When she was 27 she was in a bad auto accident, had a broken neck and spent many months in the hospital. She went back to work as soon as she could after the accident. She was always in pain after the accident, it slowed her down a little but she never complained, she just kept on working.
A few years later she went to school to become a realtor. She worked for Probe Realtors for many years. That was her profession for the rest of her life and she loved that too. She met so many wonderful people and some are still her friends.
Her favorite thing to do was shopping, she would shop for bargains as often as she could. She got many good buys doing that. If she saw something she thought a friend or relative might like she would buy it. She was very kind and giving to everyone.
Later in her life she seemed to get pneumonia every winter. She had many illnesses, they seemed to come one after the other. She had a stroke, part of her bowel removed and was on a colostomy for about 6 months. She injured one knee one year and a couple of years later she injured the other knee. A few years later she got lung cancer and AFIB, then radiation treatments and chemo treatments but couldn't finish them because she got pneumonia again. By that time her knees were hurting and it was hard for her to walk.
Her corroded artery was closing off so she had a stint put in. She was going to get her knee operation in January 2012, but she got pneumonia and a kidney infection. She couldn't get over it and got weaker and weaker and she passed away peacefully at home in her own bed.
