Pete Antonietta Jr., of Hyde Park, Utah, and formerly of Houston, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on January 8, 2025, at Maple Springs of North Logan.
Born to Pete Antonietta and Rachel Anna Steinheiser on August 13, 1935, in Chartiers Township, Pennsylvania as the eldest of four children. From an early age, Pete exhibited a remarkable work ethic, a love for the outdoors, and an unshakable devotion to his family and faith.
A 1954 graduate of Chartiers High School, Pete furthered his education in Practical and Architectural Drafting at Chicago Technical College, earning a diploma in 1965. Over the years, Pete built a successful career as a draftsman checker, working for Bowman Metal Deck Division Cyclops Corporation and E.G. Smith. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality were evident in everything he did. After retiring from drafting, he enjoyed serving his community as a school bus driver for the Canon-McMillan School District.
On September 25, 1956, Pete married the love of his life, Barbara D. Fisher, in Washington, Pennsylvania. Their love story was one of partnership and faith. As converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pete and Barbara’s marriage was solemnized in the Washington, D.C. Temple on April 14, 1995. Hand in hand, they raised three daughters building a home filled with love, laughter and unwavering commitment through the ups and downs of life.
Pete and Barbara lived in Houston, Pennsylvania, for most of their lives. While there, Pete gave generously of his time and talents. He spent many years as a volunteer EMT and ambulance driver with the Canonsburg VFW Post 191 and served on the Houston Borough Zoning Board. He was known as someone who you could rely on in an emergency and who took pride in helping others.
In 1996, Pete and Barbara relocated to Hyde Park, Utah, where they embraced a new chapter of their lives. Pete continued his tradition of service by ministering to those around him. He dedicated many years volunteering at the Bishop’s Storehouse. He filled his days with quiet acts of kindness and service, a reflection of the deep faith that guided his life.
Pete loved the simple joys of life. He was happiest outdoors, whether camping, gardening, or hunting. His family fondly remembers the trips they took together, where Pete would share his knowledge of the land and his stories around the campfire. He had a quick wit, a warm smile, and a knack for making those around him feel valued and loved.
