Peter John Rudd, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2011. He was born in San Francisco, CA to Francis A. Rudd and Thelma Sorensen Rudd. He arrived a mere fifteen behind his twin brother Paul, which remained an inside joke between the two. They grew up together with their sister Francis. He attended West High School and graduated in the class of 1968. He attended the University of Utah on an engineering scholarship and completed a cabinet making apprenticeship at Salt Lake Community College. He served in the 128th Public Affairs Detachment of the Utah Army National Guard from 1974 to 1986. Peter spent most of his career in woodworking and created many beautiful custom designed pieces of furniture and cabinetry, most of which was during his 19 years will Salt Lake Mill and Lumber Company. Some prestigious projects he worked on were the restoration of the governer's mansion, The Triad Center, and the Deveraux house. He had many hobbies including photography, fishing, black powder rifles, cooking, trains, reading, coin collecting, classic cars, scenic drives, playing the mandolin and trumpet, mountain man rendezvous, and camping. He also served as an adult leader in The Boy Scouts of America and epecially enjoyed that time with his 3 sons. Peter married Rosemarie Long in June 1975. Although they later divorced, they remained good friends through life. They had raised their 4 children Jon, Alex, Scott, and Annemarie in their home in Kearns, UT. He was always excited to hear of their accomplishments and the latest news of what was going on in their lives. Together, they shared some of his many hobbies, and have carried them on. Peter is survived by his sister Francis Foy, sister-in-law Sharon Rudd, his children Jon, Alex (Lisa) Rudd, Scott (Brittany) Rudd, Annemarie (Austin) Shaw, and his granddaughter Allie Marie of whom he had been very excited about becoming a grandpa. Several Nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles as well. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Paul. His family may be joined at a memorial service celebrating his life on Friday July 1, 2011. Beginning with a miltary flag ceremony at 6 pm and continuing until 8 pm.
