Rachel "Faye" Jensen

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Faye Jensen, passed away from natural causes, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. She was born on September 16, 1918 in Huntington, Utah to Rachel Guymon and Mark Kartchner. She married Harold Edward Jensen on June 24, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. Faye served on both Beehive and Drama Committee of the Mutual General Board. She held many church callings, including Relief Society President and Stake Mutual President. Faye is known for her many talents in dramatic theater and won awards for her road shows and one-act plays. Faye is survived by her children, Karen Doney; Kathy Nelson; and Claudia (Michael) Barrett; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brother, Earl Kartchner and sister Beverly Zumbrunnen. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Jensen and daughter Christie Jensen. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Edgehill Ward located at 1750 South 1500 East in Salt Lake City. Viewing will be on Friday, October 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the services on Saturday at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to Applegate Hospice for their loving care given to Faye.
