Ralph Clinton Lillie; 74, of South Jordan, Utah died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at his home after a valiant battle with cancer. Ralph was born June 20, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Ralph Clinton Lillie Sr. and Grace Arthella Radmall Lillie. He attended Granite High School before entering the US Army in 1953. He served his country honorably as an engineer during the Korean War. He married Emily Marie Mower in Salt Lake City on August 13, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 14, 1972. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his wife Emily M Lillie, and his children; Annette (Gaylon) Ellis, Claudette (Leon) Stevens, Tim (Deborah) Lillie, Brian (Kim) Lillie, Michele (Mike) Kenfield, Colin (Hilary) Lillie, Gavin (Becki) Lillie, Georgette (David) Horton, Brigette (Tait) Pace and Allan Lillie. A sister; Geri Stokes. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and twin grandsons. Ralph and Emily not only raised their children, but provided for 80 foster children over the length of 43 years. To him this was pay back for such good care that was provided to him by Pete and Alice Vogrinec when he was a foster child. Ralph owned and operated Deseret Auto Painting for 25 years. He also worked at Hinkley Auto as a manager before retiring. He was known for his green thumb. He loved gardening and could be found in his garden in Fairview keeping it free from weeds. He loved making things beautiful. Whether it was a flower garden, painting his home or restoring an old car, he always gave everything his personal touch. He enjoyed being in the out of doors. He worked to fish and hunt or to go camping. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the Country Park LDS 1st Ward Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Chad Peterson officiating. Friends and family may gather on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and again Saturday, March 29th from 9 to 9:45 a.m. preceding the funeral service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. (11250 S. 2700 W. South Jordan, UT) Interment will be in the Fairview City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. following services. Donations may be made in Ralph Lillies name to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
