Ramona Lynn Smith

Ramona Lynn Barth Smith, 43, died peacefully at her home in West Jordan on October 6, 2010 after a valiant fight against breast cancer and many attendent complications. She suffered well with faith, strength, grace and humor. Ramona was born in San Jose, California on August 25, 1967.

She graduated from North Monterey County High in Castroville, California. She attended Ricks College following high school. She was sealed for time and all eternity to Alan Wayne Smith on December 19, 1987 in the Logan LDS Temple. She also attended Utah State University. She earned an Associate's degree from BATC. She was a dedicated wife and stay-at-home mom for many years. She developed breast cancer in 2003 and beat it. She acquired a taste for adventure as a result of her brush with death and took up motorcycling. She went on the ride of her life from San Diego to San Francisco with many other survivors of breast cancer to raise money for research.
She was employed in various jobs during her life, but the most fulfilling work she did outside the home was working as the data manager and receptionist at Navigator Pointe Academy. She enjoyed working with the children most of all and knew each one of them by name. In July of 2009 she was diagnosed with the aggressive form of breast cancer which eventually took her life.

Ramona is survived by her husband and six children, Jeremy, Geoffrey (who is currently serving in the Mexico Cuernavaca Mission), Benjamin, Adam, Bethany and Nicholas as well as her parents, Richard Barth and Claudia Anderson Barth, and her siblings Kimberly, Eva, Jill, Dianne, Jennifer, Sarah and Nathaniel.
