Raymond Lee Rambo lost his battle with cancer on March 24, 2015. He passed away in his home, with his wife and children at his side. Raymond was born on May 1, 1933 in Pomona, California to Elmer Joseph and Esther Laurine (Kingry) Rambo. On December 13, 1969 he married Sharlene Rae Kynaston. During the Korean War, Ray served four years of active duty with the U. S. Air Force. After his service, he spent 29 years working at Hill Air Force Base as a Flight Line Mechanic. He loved to travel all over the country, for no reason other than to go. He also loved his generation of country music, fishing, hunting, and spending time at the cabin that he built with his family. He could always be found fixing things around the house, or working on his cars. In his later years, he would sit and watch the humming birds, work in the garden, do yard work, and listen to his children sing. Surviving Ray is his wife, Sharlene; children: Sandra (Troy) Nicol, David Rambo, and Matthew Rambo; sister, Joyce (Steven) Knighton; and children from other marriage: Karl, Debbie, Kathy, and Phil. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah with full military honors on Friday, March 27, 2015. Special thanks to Superior Home Care and Hospice for helping us through this. We will never forget what you have done.
