Raymond (Pete) Lee Taggart was born in Two Buttes, Colorado, May 15, 1923 to William D. Taggart and Bessie L. Wright. He was married to his loving wife of 62 years, Doris Irene Coplan, on October 5, 1946, in Yuma, Arizona. They had 3 beautiful daughters.
Raymond served valiantly in the US Navy during World War II, and loved his country dearly. He was a skilled electrician by trade, and worked for the LADWP (Los Angeles Department of Water and Power) for 30 years. He served 15 years as President of the Los Angeles IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 18. Raymond was also a member of the Canoga Masonic Lodge 611.
Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, boxing, and playing cards. He is survived by his 3 daughters: Delores (Terry) Gunn; Gloria (Val) Johnson; and Viola (Steven) Walker; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his 9 brothers and sisters and by a sweet baby great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at the Cedar Hollow 7th Ward LDS chapel, 650 E. 3200 N, Lehi, Utah, at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2008. Family and friends are invited to a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM at the same location prior to the funeral. Interment will be held at the Lehi City Cemetery.
