Rex returned home on Aug 5, 2012. He was born Dec 31, 1936 in Salt Lake City to William and Velma Casey. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. Returning home from the Pacific he met and married Geraldine (Jeri) Freeman on July 6, 1958. Together they raised 3 children until her passing in 2009. He loved driving trucks and made a lifelong career of it. He was an avid racecar fan. He and Jeri spent many weekend nights at the old Fairgrounds track and later at Bonneville watching circle track races. He had a personality larger than life and was very likeable and full of humor. He made friends easily, and kept them with his wit and sincere spirit of life. You were the rock of our family. Rest in peace our number one sailor. Rex is survived by his three children, Joni (Kim) Player, Teri (Michael) Sanders, and Danny. John Sanders, Kris Fleming, eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his honey girl Bonnie Dalton. He grew to love Bonnie's family as much as his own. Preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Jeri, sisters, and granddaughter Mandy Star. Services will be Fri Aug 10, 2012 at 1:00pm at Veterans Memorial Park. 17111 S Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale, Ut. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at Veterans Memorial Park.
