Richard Lowell Dalley

Our father Richard Dalley passed away at home July 30, 2007, at age 79, after a valiant yearlong battle with cancer.
Richard was born June 22, 1928, in Parowan, Utah, to Charles and Zola Dalley. He attended schools in southern Utah and served a mission in Oregon. He was sealed for time and all eternity to Dawn Etta Harline in the Salt Lake Temple, Jan. 25, 1951. He received a bachelor's from the University of Utah and a master's from Brigham Young University. He worked for oil, steel and agriculture companies before serving as auditor for BYU and, later, manager of accounting and budgeting with the University of Utah School of Medicine. He was also appointed town treasurer with the city of Cedar Hills.
Richard served as ward clerk for the Orem 13th Ward for many years, took boys to the summit of Mount Timpanogos as scout master, taught the gospel doctrine class, and served as assistant High Priest secretary. He loved the gospel. His greatest joys in retirement were working in the temple, road trips around the West, and gardening. His yard won several city beautification awards.
Survivors include children Dennis, Nadene, Paul, Mark, Brenda, Glendon, Rosanne and Nathan, and spouses; former wives Elma, Jeanette and Delphia; sisters Leola and Colleen and brothers Stanford and Wes, and spouses. He has 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Wife Dawn Etta, son Jared, and grandson Tyler Dalley. The family would like to thank nurse Becky Shelley for her compassionate care. We will miss you, Daddy.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sharon First Ward, 641 S. 400 E. in Orem. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. at the same location, with a viewing from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Online condolences may be submitted to www.serenicare.com.
