Richard Ellison Reep, II
Santa Clara, UT- Richard Ellison Reep, II was born, December 31, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Richard E. Reep and Lorraine Georgia Shepard. He has fulfilled his mission here on earth and has gone on to fill his eternal dreams. Dick passed away Sunday morning, February 7, 2010 due to complications following a hip replacement surgery.
Dick began at a very young age working in radio and television. He was a youth host on a children's television show in Minneapolis when he was only ten years old. He began hosting a radio show on KEYD in Minneapolis and continued to broadcast radio through his teen years. After graduating from high school, Dick enlisted into the Air Force and served his duty in Thailand where he was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Upon returning home from Thailand, he moved to Salt Lake City to "join the saints." Soon after, he met and married his first wife, Judith Marie Miller of Burley, Idaho. They settled in the West Valley City area of the Salt Lake valley and together bore five beautiful children: David, Richard, Aaron, Mary and Amy. During his marriage to Judy, Dick went to school and became a Police Officer for the City of Salt Lake. A few years later, Dick had the opportunity to become the original Deeburger Clown, which he did for several years. When his first marriage ended, he married Brenda Crofts, moved to southern Utah and bore two beautiful babies, Ricky and ReNee'. Tragically, while moving to Cedar City, ReNee' was killed by the pickup truck moving the family's belonging. Dick has grieved her loss every day since May 3, 1986. Soon after Dick and Brenda graduated with Bachelors' degrees from Southern Utah State College, they moved to California, and began teaching. Constant desire to return to southern Utah kept the family hopping until they finally ended up in St. George with five additional children: Robbie, Ryan, Rianna, Rustin and Rachel. Dick has enjoyed running his self-employed business called "Kolob Fire & Safety" for the past 13 years. He has spent all his free time doing family history work for about a year and a half. We can imagine the reunion of those family members he has located and served while here on this earth. He may be leaving loving family behind, but he is now encircled about by all his family gone before.
Richard is survived by his wife, Brenda Crofts Reep (St. George, UT), his parents, Richard and Lorraine Reep (Minneapolis, MN), his first wife Judith Marie Miller Reep (West Valley City, UT), his brother Thomas Alan & Karin Reep (Seattle, WA), his sister Barbara Ann & Harry Temple (Alaska), his children: David Isaac & Carmen Reep (Salt Lake), Richard Wayne & Meggan Reep (Salt Lake), Aaron Wallace & Sherry Ann Reep (St. George), Mary Cassie & Tyler Fuller (Salt Lake), Amelia Anne & Dave Phillips (Salt Lake), Richard Ellison, III & Shannon Reep (St. George), Robert Channing Reep, Ryan Charles Reep, Rianna Clarissa Reep, Rustin Karel Lyman Reep and Rachel Katherine Reep, his grandchildren: Colton, Mattina, Ally, AJ, Logan, Kara, Tanner, Geremy, Kylie & Alexander.
