Richard Willis Jones

Richard Willis Jones passed peacefully, surrounded by family on January 14, 2012 of complications from a spinal cord injury incurred January of 2009. He was born January 26, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Richard and Marion Willis Jones.
Married Barbara Jones August 25, 1984, and was a loving father and grandfather to daughter, Amber Rose (Kevin) and grandson, Karson James Shelton; son, Samuel Porter; and daughter, Trinity Ivy Gehring.
While growing up in Ventura, California he enjoyed surfing and ocean sunsets. After moving to Utah with his young family, he spent many hours on the Provo River fishing and camping. Richard had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh with family and friends. He worked in construction, and was a talented artist and craftsman.
Mourned by his parents and siblings; Helen Kate (James) Fager, Greg (Lori), Lorraine (Ralph) Stoddard, Amy (Aaron) Griffeth, Peter (Lisa), and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at the Jordan Oaks 8th ward located at 8117 S. Leslie Drive, West Jordan, UT on Friday, January 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 21st from noon to 1:45 p.m. with funeral services to follow. We are grateful for the loving care provided by the staff at South Davis Community Hospital and The University of Utah Medical Center.
