Richard Dean Kelson passed away on November 14, 2007 after a brief illness during which we discovered he had struggled through a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

He graduated from Cypress High School and attended the University of Utah. Dean Kelson and JoAnn Whatcott were married on July 7, 1972 in the Provo Temple.
He spent his working years at Kenecott as a truck driver and in several other positions. Dean enjoyed hunting, target shooting, astronomy, piloting, and singing in the ward choir. He served as secretary in the High Priest Group in his ward. He was an excellent marksman and was able to fulfill one of his lifetime dreams of going on an African safari.
