Richard Carlos Martinez, passed away Aug. 12, 2007, of a lingering illness. Born, June 19, 1944 to Jose Rafael and Regina Herrera Martinez in Skarda, New Mexico.
Richard graduated from Cyprus High School in 1964. His best companion in life was his dog, Dingo. He loved sports, especially basketball. He worked as a Dialysis Technician for many years.
Richard did not have any children of his own, however, was more than a father to Ken (Alisa) Martinez and their children Norman Kenneth, Richard Lamar, and Jana Rae Martinez.
Survived by five sisters; Elsie, Annie, Betty, Beatrice, Helen, two brothers; Phil, Robert. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Luis, Tony and two sisters; Dora, Ida. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 W. 5215 S. Kearns, Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
A special thanks to his faithful friend, Ricardo Manzanares, Richard's "red haired friend', Tammy and the entire staff at Rocky Mountain Care and Hospice.
