Richard John Neal of Goshen, Utah, passed away July 15, 2007, surrounded by his family. Richard was born August 10, 1946 in Lewiston, Idaho to John William Neal and Helen Wilma Storey.
He married Daryl Eliza Clarke on August 26, 1972. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland California LDS Temple . They had four children, Benjamin, Seth, Emily and Kimberly.
Richard served an LDS mission to Northern Germany . When he returned, he attended BYU and made his living as a contractor in home construction, taking part in all phases of building homes. He later attended and graduated from UVSC with an A.S. and A.A.S. in Electronics and Computer Technology. He always enjoyed building and loved reading, especially the scriptures. He especially loved being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving the Lord. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 17 years ago and through this trial, was an example to his family of great patience and love.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Daryl; four children: Benjamin (Kendra) Neal, Santaquin; Seth (Koree) Neal, Payson; Emily (Michael) Hadlock, Payson; Kimberly Neal, Payson; ten grandchildren; mother, Helen Cookson and step-father, Alan Cookson, California; brother, Gerald Neal, Oregon and sister, Dawn Vanworth, California.
The family would like to thank Mountain View Hospital and especially the ICU nurses. A very special "Thank you" to nurses Karla and Kassie, for all of their work and care during the last few days of Richard's life.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Goshen LDS Church, 70 South Main, Goshen, Utah, under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home, Orem. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Goshen LDS Church and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services. Internment will be in the Goshen City Cemetery .
