Rico Alan Romero

Rico Alan Romero, a selfless and loving man known for his infectious humor and boundless compassion passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2025 at the age of 21. Born on September 28th, 2003, he had the unique joy of sharing his birthday with his sister, Amberlee, a bond they cherished deeply.

Rico was the beloved son of Jennifer and Eric, and the doting brother to his four sisters: Jasmyn, Ariel, Aurora, and Amberlee. He welcomed his brother-in-law Ashton into the family with open arms, immediately labeling him the “brother he always wanted.” Rico is also survived by his loving grandparents: Kevin, Dave, Ida, and Vickie, while his late grandparents, Alan and Cara, are surely welcoming him with the warmest embraces. He had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who all held a special place in his heart - notably, his cousin, Brighton, who was born the same year as Rico and grew up very close with him. Second to Rico's girlfriend, Tabby (who was the light in his eyes), Rico's extensive circle of friends were always the center of his outings and stories.

Rico's goofiness and kind-hearted demeanor brought joy to everyone he encountered. As someone who would never pass up an opportunity to make someone smile, Rico had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh due to his very unique sense of humor. Known for his empathetic and selfless nature, Rico was always willing to help a friend or family member with anything they needed - especially with their cars. His passion for cars was unparallelled, evident in the countless hours he spent fixing up vehicles for himself and his friends. An artist at heart and someone who enjoyed an active lifestyle, he balanced creativity and strength. Whether sketching, playing video games, or working out, he approached life with the same enthusiasm he had for late-night Taco Bell runs. Rico also loved animals. At a gathering, if you were looking for him, Rico could always be found holding his or someone else's pet. Whether a dog, cat, furry, or scaley, Rico had a knack for befriending them all.

Rico's determination shone through when he graduated high school with spectacular grades, overcoming challenges that many could not even fathom. As a passionate cadet in the JROTC, while in high school, he showcased leadership and his dedication. His pursuit of a career in law enforcement led him briefly to the police academy until his true passion steered him back into the field of automobiles. Rico took pride in working on cars and found the most joy in doing so.

Rico's legacy is one of love, laughter, unwavering kindness, and the reminder not to take life too seriously. As we remember him, let's honor his spirit by sharing a joke, adopting a stray pet, and revving our engines. Rico will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest easy, Rico; your humor and heart will be fondly remembered.

Rico's family and friends will be having a service soon (date to be determined) as well as a send-off memorial on May 24th. You can find all information and pictures at this website (information will be updated on the website as we receive it).
