Robert Lewis Larsen, age 62, returned to his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family on September 10, 2007. Robert fought a brave battle with cancer for the last four years of his life. He was born January 16, 1945 in Provo, Utah to Paul Waldo Larsen and Dorothy Durrant Larsen. He married Jill Whetsel in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 34 years. He is survived by his wife, Jill and one daughter, Tiffany Hart, son-in-law Kenneth Hart and granddaughter Allison Hart, Centerville, Ohio; brother John Paul Larsen (Sally), Orem, Utah and brother Parley Craig Larsen, Salt Lake City. Robert grew up in Salt Lake City, attended Highland High School and graduated from the University of Utah where he associated with the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He also served in the Army Reserve. He attended Columbia Graduate School of Business in New York City where he received a MBA in Finance. He was a Security Analyst for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco for ten years. With his love of computers, he started his own consulting business. He held a great appreciation for music and played the trumpet. We will miss his dry sense of humor. He loved the Lord and was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the Southern Australian Mission. He held many leadership and religious instruction positions and also served as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. As he succumbed to the effects of cancer, he received comfort from his little four-pawed companion, Maisy. In his most difficult hours, peace came from his favorite scripture, "... be still and know that I am God." Funeral services will be held Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brickyard Ward, 1111 Charlton Avenue, SLC, Utah (2750 South 1100 East). Friends may call Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church and on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the kind and compassionate care given by the doctors, nurses and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists and Rocky Mountain Hospice.
