Robert Marion Moon

Robert Marion Moon passed away April 6, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 17, 1939 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Myrtice Augusta Robinson and Marion Wayne Moon. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Linton Moon on July 9, 1966 in Petrolia, Texas. They have two daughters, Cindy (Randy) Bohn and Amanda Moon.
Bob attended Petrolia High School, Midwestern State University and Rice university. He honorably served in the United States Army 1962 - 1965 as a communication specialist. He was a Russian and German translator. He is a chemist working in research and development where he had multiple patents awarded related to coatings and resins and civil engineering. He also had a successful career as a professional musician before the birth of his two daughters.
Bob enjoyed reading, sports and politics. Bob could play banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass and harmonica. He was raised as a Methodist, but became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the 1970's.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn and his two daughters, Cindy (Randy) Bohn and Amanda Moon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ellen, Sarah and Will Bohn and Xander Moon.
Services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park Cemetery located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah at 2:00 p.m. with a brief viewing in the chapel at the cemetery at 1:30 prior to graveside services.
