Taken too soon! Robert Matthew Temple "I never said I wanted to grow up" Robert (Bobby) Temple, 42, Beloved husband, father, "gampa", friend, was taken away from us suddenly, unexpectedly, and needlessly on August 14th, 2009 while working at a job in Vernal, Utah.
Robert was born July 10th, 1967 in Anaheim, California to Susan Doris Fredeen & Paul Wheeler Temple. Robert spent his youth in Southern California where he met his high school sweetheart Elizabeth at the age of 14. They were civilly married in Victorville, California in 1986, they were later sealed together as a family in the Salt Lake Temple.
Robert attended various schools in southern California. He attended Victor Valley Senior High School graduating class of 1985. Robert enlisted in the Army National Guard in the same year and proudly served for the next 8 years, where He was educated in Electronics, and tactical communications, and was an expert marksman. During his time of service, He received many commendations for service above and beyond the call of duty. Robert & his family later moved to Colorado.
He then attended Cheyenne Aero Technology School where he graduated in the top of his class with honors with a degree in Airframe and Power plant mechanics. During his schooling he accepted a position where he was able to utilize his exceptional electronics skills and knowledge to install stereo equipment and very much enjoyed his work. During that time he learned woodworking skills, and thus began a love of wood. After moving to Klamath Falls, Oregon he obtained employment at DJ Bettencourt Furniture Gallery where he began his "hobby"/full time career in woodworking. After moving from Oregon to Utah in 1999, he obtained employment with Cottonwood Mill and Fine Kitchen Furniture where he perfected his skills and became a very valuable employee who will be missed greatly by the company owners, his co workers and clients alike. Robert was an amazing and very talented artistic woodworker and cabinet installer.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved son James Arthur Temple as well as his Uncle Jerry Galland. Robert is survived by his wife and best friend of 26 years, Elizabeth Temple, his children: Jamie Temple (Claudia), Jessica Limb (Jesse), Joshua Temple, Allisia Nicholas (Austin), Juliana Temple, Candice Temple (Sean), Sharla & Sydney Stroble-Temple, & Jessica Dawn Turley, his grandchildren: Remi Annalysa Temple, Aiden Jae Temple, Keaton Orion Temple, Jared Alexander Temple, Maddison Brittni Nicholas, & James Mark Nicholas, his mother Juanita Marie Temple-Andreas of Bishop, California, Father, Paul Wheeler Temple and step mother Kathy Temple of Magalia, California, brothers: Mark Anthony Temple (Tammy)of Bishop, California, niece C.C. Temple David Luke Temple (Zoey) of Magalia, California, Nephews & Nieces, Jeremiah Luke, Sala Marie, Rebekah Rose, & Dominik Qwina Temple Robert touched many lives while being a foster dad for the State of Utah for many years. Many of the children that were in his care still call him "Dad" and love him deeply.
Services will be Wednesday August 19th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.,located at the LDS Chapel on 1160 West 400 South, Orem, Utah Viewing will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up for Roberts children and can be sent to any First Utah Bank In care of Robert Temple family trust, or to Cottonwood Mill & Fine Furniture 12757 South Minuteman Drive, Draper, Utah 84020 (in care of Brent Dial).
