Robin was born June 4, 1945, in Riverside, California and passed away from us and into her mother's arms on September 24 following a stroke. She graduated from San Carlos H.S. in 1963 then went on to beauty school and got her cosmetology license (thus validating her evenings spent in the bathroom peroxiding her hair before dinner). She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing Nutcracker costumes for a ballet company in California and, more importantly, all of her daughter's costumes for school plays and clothing through elementary school.
Robin inherited her mother's culinary talents. Her daughter especially loved her homemade pasta and currant and chokecherry jellies and syrups made from berries they picked together in the canyon. She had many regular customers at her parent's deli at the Pepper Tree Market in Orem, then at Corner Pizza in Provo, where her daughter worked with her for a time and they shared inside jokes. She showed love to her friends and family with handcrafted bows on their gifts, intricate needlepoint projects, and painstakingly made shortbread cookies at Christmas (no, you still can't have the recipe). She taught her daughter the healing power of music and to love good old rock and roll. Her yard, rose bushes, and hand built pond were the envy of the neighborhood.
Robin is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Betty D. Allison Olcott, and her constant four-legged companions Jenny, Brandy, Whiskey and Darby. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Lee Cope and son-in-law Cyle Cope of Spanish Fork, her grandchildren John Dallin, Kaitlyn Lee, Cyle Austin and Allison Amelia; her step-father John L. Olcott of Orem, brothers Mike (Linda) McCaffery of American Fork, and Tim McCaffery of Hurricane. And of course, her best friend to the end, Maggie May.
Cyle and Christina are deeply grateful to the staff of ICU at American Fork Hospital and are appreciative of their genuine love and care shown to them and to Robin.
