HEAVEN the final frontier. This is the voyage of Ronald James Lake. His continuing mission to explore new dimensions, seek out eternal life, and new states of glory, to boldly go where his soul has never gone before.
On Saturday, June 9,2007 Ronald James Lake left this world, living life to the fullest in the shadow of the mountains which he loved, with his sense of humor intact. As he continued his journey home to his Heavenly Father, he left behind his wife Cindy Lou Herrick Lake with whom he had shared the past 29 years. They married on September 2, 1978 in Thomaston Connecticut and were later sealed for time and eternity within the Washington Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Together they welcomed four spirits into their eternal family: Elizabeth Faune Lake who married Daniel Charles Rimkie, they added granddaughter Amanda June; Ronald Woodrow Lake who added sons Jaime Mitchell and Joshua Hezekiah; Margaret Mae Lake and Aaron Hyrum Lake. He went on before his parents Myrtle Belle and William F. Lake, his sisters Suzann Piontkwicz and Audrey Rougeot as well as his brothers Dennis F. Carey and William F. Lake Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in Winsted Connecticut on June 10, 1950, Ron lived in Torrington Connecticut, Charlton Massachusetts and Murray Utah.
His value of education encouraged many as he Graduated from Oliver Wolcott Regional High School in 1970 and Waterbury State Technical College in 1995 receiving an Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering. During his career he was privileged to be employed at the Torrington Company, Reid Engineering, Otis Elevator, Dymax Corporation, Duracell Battery and Schott Optivance.
In his death as well as his life he set an example of pioneer spirit, sober living, and love of the Savior, all the while teaching the fine art of being a joke machine. His deep love of others and bold testimony of the gospel touched many lives. Ron served several Stake Missions for his church as well as positions of responsibility within the local ward congregation.
Ron was a devoted husband, beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and child of God. His greatest joy was being in the company of his family and in the wonder of the creations of nature. His greatest accomplishment was that he endured all things well until the end. He will be missed. Safe Journey Ron, ENGAGE!
My Beloved Ron
As I first embarked upon loves desire I never recognized, The full potential found within The reflection of your eyes. I searched for health, I searched for power Stability and fortune were key. The objectives and direction were known As they had been taught to me.
Then I knew you and I grasped the truth Though modest and simple a treasure. You shared your soul and we became one A love no other could measure. The gift I found within myself From one who is loving and wise. After the quest I beheld it so clear, Mirrored, in your loving eyes.
