Ronald Richard Marcyes, 75, passed away on Monday November 12, 2012 after a courageous battle against cancer. Ronald was born July 13, 1937 to Melvin and Thelma Marcyes in Albany, California. He grew up in Northern California, where he learned with his father and his older brother David how to camp and hunt and love the great outdoors. When he was 17 years old he enlisted in the Navy. After his time in the Navy, he returned to Tracy, California where he graduated from Tracy High School. At the age of 19 he served an LDS Mission in the Spanish American Mission (Texas and New Mexico). In 1964 he married Kathleen Pipkin, and they had one son, Michael. After they divorced, he married Gwen Anglesey in January of 1968, in North Highlands California. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple April 2, 1971. They had two children together, Jesse and Janae. Ron loved working with his hands. He worked on all kinds of machines from cars to calculators. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic and did general maintenance until he retired in the spring of 2012. He moved to Rupert Idaho with his wife Gwen in February of 2012 where he resided until his death. Ron is survived by his wife Gwen Anglesey Marcyes, his three children: Michael Lynn Marcyes, Jesse Lavern Marcyes, and Janae Marcyes Berry, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Ron was an active High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was very active in Family History and music, where he served many years as an organist and pianist and in many other callings. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the LDS Rupert 1st Ward meeting house, 806 G St, Rupert Idaho. There will be a viewing at the church from 11:00 to 12:30.In Lieu of flowers friends may make memorial donations to the Wells Fargo, Rupert branch in care of Gwen A. Marcyes.
