Roque Julian Garcia passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012, in Santa Clara, Utah. He was born on April 7, 1944, in Lompoc, California to Alfredo and Marta Martines Garcia, the youngest of five children. He married Ana Gladys Dehais in Oxnard, California on June 13, 1980. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on March 5, 1982.
Roque served in the U.S. Navy. He loved his career working on airplanes. He was faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel, missionary work, and temple work.
He is survived by: his wife Ana Garcia of Santa Clara; his sons Roque Garcia, Jr., Daniel Garcia, David Garcia, all of California, and his daughter Thressa Garcia of Yukon, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Heather Metcalf; great grandson, Alexander Quinn Metcalf; sisters Carmela Lara and Dolores Swisher; brother Alfredo Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Daniel Garcia.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara 15th Ward LDS Chapel, 3680 Pioneer Parkway, Santa Clara, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, November 9, from 9:30 a.m-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will take place at the Santa Clara Cemetery.
