Rosalind W Drage

Rosalind Wilkins Drage March 29, 1927 to August 14, 2012
Our beloved Granny Rose reluctantly passed away on August 14th after having fought a myriad of ills these past several months.
She left us in a peaceful moment with her husband of 66 years at her side.
Rosalind was a loving wife these many years and mother to three children, grandmother to seven and great-grandmother to four.
She is survived by her husband, Lt Col Donald D Drage, USAF Ret, of Salt Lake City; sons Wallace S Drage (Karyn); Darryl W Drage (Rosalyn); and daughter Claudia D Niss (John); and their extended families.
Rosalind was primarily a stay-at-home mother during Don's active military career; but at convenient times she was active in real estate and later served as a fashion buyer for retail stores.
In their early retirement years she and Don lived in San Diego and Georgia and have lived in Salt Lake City for the past twenty-seven years.
Rosalind was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia; where she met Don during his training as a fighter pilot in World War II.
She brought her southern charm and grace into their marriage and was resilient through the many required uprootings of a military career.
She was the stability and anchor required for a family moving through their various assignments in California, France, Germany, New Jersey, England, and Washington DC before retirement.
She embodied the characteristic versatility of a military wife and mother; gracious hostess, consummate conversationalist, teacher, caregiver, motivator and always a loving presence and stabilizing influence.
Following a family gravesite service at Wasatch Lawn, an open house will be held on Monday, August 20th at 3:00 pm at Terrace Falls complex, 171 East Third Avenue, SLC, 5th floor.
In lieu of flowers, you are invited to forward donations to Rocky Mountain Hospice Foundation 5242 So College Drive Suite 150, Murray, Utah 84123.
Our family would like to acknowledge our heartfelt appreciation for the loving care and support provided by the entire staff of Rocky Mountain.
