Russell Marvin Wilson St. George, UT - Russell Marvin Wilson, 79 passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2011. He was born February 9, 1932, in Hatch, UT, to Jesse Stephen Wilson Jr. and Lilith Porter Wilson. He married Yvonne Campbell December 20, 1957, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Russell grew up in Hatch, and graduated from Panguitch High School. He received BS and MBA degrees from the University of Utah and graduated top of his class from the Colorado School of Banking. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He had a career in banking working in Panguitch, Salina, Manti, St. George, and Delta. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scouting, family outings, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He served 2 full-time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (California and Michigan), two local service missions, and served as a temple ordinance worker at the St. George temple.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; children; Linda, Janae (Rex) Pickett, Marv (Nola) Allen, Corene (Dale) Jolley, Lynn (Candace) Carlisle, and Rebecca (Scott) Gillespie; 23 grandchildren; siblings; Virginia, J. Lloyd, Helen Wilkes, Marba Lazenby, Marie Davis, Richard S., D. Wayne, Kent C., Hugh L., S. Karl, Carolyn Poulsen, and Robert K.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George East Stake Center 449 S. 300 E. St. George, UT. Visitations will be held the church Monday evening July 18, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 9:30-10:30 prior to the funeral on Tuesday. Military rites will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Hillsdale Cemetery near Hatch, Utah.
