On April 26th, 2008, Ruth Wesemann Smith gently passed away of Parkinson's Disease. Born to Alfred and Mary Wesemann on Feb. 4, 1931.
She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High. She married for 56 years her high school love, Boyd Smith in 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and moved to Southern California for 34 years and had many fine and close associates and friends. She taught high school English at Upland High School, was a counselor at Chaffey and Etiwanda High schools and for the church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints was very important to her and she served in many callings. Everything she did she enjoyed, and was successful. She had love for everyone and they for her. Her beautiful life story needs a volume and sadly cannot fit here.
Ruth is survived by her husband, three children who were her great joy, Mark and daughter-in-law Robyn, Karen and husband Mark Dell, David and wife Kathleen, ten marvelous grandchildren, brother, Gordon and wife Linda, sister Barbara and husband Jim Walkenhorst, brother Robert, deceased, a loving dog Missy, and many special friends. She will be--already is--greatly missed. She will always be with us in heart, mind and spirit. As a family, we express our grateful thanks and appreciation to everyone for their kind help, support, welcomed embraces, prayers and love.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00am at the Muellar Park Ward Chapel, 1975 South 1320 East, in Bountiful, UT. Viewing will be Friday night at the church from 6 to 8pm, and from 10:00-10:45am, before the funeral. Internment will be at Valley View Memorial Park in West Valley.
