Ryan Keith Hedelius, 49, passed away April 21, 2008 in Worland, Wyoming. He was born in Brigham City, Utah June 20, 1958 to Robert Keith and Anna Jean Ott Hedelius.
Following relatively short stays in Bountiful, Utah and Nashville, Tennessee, the family moved to Ephraim, Utah in 1961, where Ryan completed elementary and middle school. He attended Manti High School for three years, then graduated from Bingham High School in South Jordan in 1977.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1979, and served in Germany, Turkey and Northern Iraq. While in the military service, he earned an Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration.. Upon completion of 20 years of service, he retired from the Air Force in 1999 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
After his military retirement, he was employed as a project engineer for Mid States Consultants in Wisconsin, California, Idaho, and Wyoming. Ryan was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as Commander of his VFW Post in California.
He is survived by his two children, Matthew Ryan of Sunset and Rebecca Kay of Las Vegas; his parents, Dr. Robert K. and Anna Jean Hedelius; two brothers--Eric Robert ( Merilyn), Manti, and Charles William (Jana), Santaquin; and five sisters, Leah Anne (Warren) Kent, Ucon, Idaho; Mary Ellen (Stephen) Jackman, Pleasant Grove, Alice Elaine (Preston) Finlinson, Oak City, Diana Jean (Clark) Gailey, La Mesa, California, and Kathleen Vilate (Evan) Hope, Frisco, Texas.
Funeral services will be held in Pleasant Grove at the LDS Ward located at 800 N. 100 W. at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the service, April 28th followed by interment, with military honors rendered by Mt Pleasant VFW Post 9276, in the Veterans Cemetery at Camp Williams.
