Ryker Gray Smith came to this earth on July 12, 2012 and sadly after only two months he finished his work here and returned to the arms of our Heavenly Father on September 16, 2012. He was born to the most incredible mother, Rebecca Lynn Smith. He has been loved by his papa and grammy, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, friends and many other loved ones.
"The Lord takes many away even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man, and the sorrows and evils of this present world; they were too pure, too lovely, to live on earth" - Joseph Smith.
We have no answers on why he left so soon, but have realized why he came to us. In these past days of terrible mourning, we have learned that he gave us the best two months of our lives. He loved to lie on our chest, right in the middle, so he could hear our heart beating. He smiled and baby talked early, which is now a sweet blessing to us as we watch his videos. He watched Disney movies with his mom in the middle of the night. He loved it when papa would bounce with him on the exercise ball. When he fussed, his mom discovered that when she played music, including Phantom of the Opera, he would calm down. He gave special time to grammy when they went on walks. He loved taking baths and showers with mom. He hated when mom would put lotion on him. He loved his Fridays with the relatives. He would laugh when mom would sing silly songs to him. He truly gave more than he took. Thank you, Ryker, for picking us as your family.
"No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside out. Love you forever, baby boy." Mom
