Sarah Elizabeth Lohmeyer, 29, died September 22, 2008, of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type I, at home surrounded by her family and friends Sarah was born Sunday, November 5, 1978, in Arlington Heights, IL to parents Frank and Kathy Lohmeyer. Sarah had been blessed with miracles her whole life; beginning the day she was born. Although her health was fragile, she never let it stand in her way. She touched many lives with her wit, wisdom, and strength. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sarah had an unwavering testimony of her Savior. She lived life with grace an determination. She was so grateful to attend BYU on scholarship, to live in her own apartment, graduating with an AAS in Criminal Justice and one semester short of graduating with a BA in Criminal Justice from Weber State University. Sarah's hobbies included reading, drawing and family history; researching over 2,000 family names. Sarah is survived by her mother Kathy, sister Rebekah, brothers Seth and Matthew, and grandparents Robert and Audrey Grothe (AK) and Jean Tibbs (IL). She is proceeded in death by her father, Frank Tibbs Lohmeyer and grandfather Wilson Tibbs. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oquirrh Point Stake Center (6270 W. 7000 S. West Jordan, UT) with Bishop Pete Bradford officiating. The family will meet with friends on Friday, September 26, 2008 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning one hour prior to services at the stake center. Burial will be at Murray City Cemetery. Sarah felt so blessed for her educational opportunities. In lieu of flowers, Sarah requested that donations be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund. The family expresses its deepest appreciation to our wonderful Oquirrh Point 4th Ward members, the caring staff of Caregivers Support Network Hospice and Sarah's longtime friend, Niki Stoddard for the dedication and love given to Sarah and us during this difficult time. Dance with the Angles, sweet Sarah-bear, til we meet again.
