Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Shirlee Noorda Minson, age 77, passed away Octdober 25, 2007 after a long battle with Alzheimer in Sandy, Utah.
She was born in Ely, Nevada on November 16, 1929 to Arnold and Jessie Sieverts. She met her husband, Dale N. Minson, while attending South High School and married on August 15, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Her passions in life include working with the students at Wasatch Jr. High School and the children at the Family Support Center in Sandy. You could also find her volunteering in many aspects with the Assistance League or in her community and church callings. She valiantly served with her husband in the Fresno Temple Construction Mission from 1999 - 2001. Although she was an avid tennis player, you could also find her skiing, biking, reading, and her favorite activity, dancing. Her favorite get away place was the family home in Victor, Idaho, where she was "Queen of the Cabin."
Shirlee is survived by her husband, children; Marci Dale Minson of Salt Lake City, Miles Sieverts Minson and wife Jen of Park City, Lori Minson Logan and husband Bruce of Redondo Beach, California, and Nathan Clark Minson of Moab, and four grandchildren; Kimber, Sarah, Joey and Leilani. She was a generous hostess, good friend, and an awesome wife, mother and grandma. We will all miss her immensely. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice, and special thanks to Ivana Nunez, our wonderful caregiver.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Hidden Oaks LDS Chapel, 11755 Highland Drive (20th East), in Sandy. There will be a viewing prior to the funeral services at 11:00 am at the church. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
