Shirley Diane Oswald Beazer, 75, passed away in her home on Thursday June 18, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 20, 1933, to the late George Henry Oswald and Margretta Christensen Oswald in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her family includes two sisters, Marilyn Dunn, Provo; Ruth Reno, Casper; and one brother, the late Kent Oswald. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1951 and on November 4, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, the late Keith Jay Beazer in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together, they have raised seven children, Steven K. Beazer (Renae), of Bountiful; Renee Wood (Brian), of Centerville; Bradley J. Beazer (Sharalyn) of Bountiful; David L. Beazer (Carolyn), of Kaysville; Kenneth L. Beazer (Cidnee), of Cedar City; Jolene Pugh (Charles), of Spanish Fork; and Sherene Winkel (Ryan) of South Jordan. She is a beloved grandmother of 37 and great grandmother to 18 of "The most handsome, beautiful and special grandchildren in the world!" Shirley's life was dedicated to her family and the Lord. There was nothing she enjoyed more than having her children and grandchildren surround her and have fun together. She was a master cook, and entertainer extraordinaire, who has blessed many lives with her talents. She was the recipient of the Lamda Delta Sigma "Elect Lady Award", and honored by the Bountiful Stake Young Women with the "Woman Worthy of Imitation Award". She has served the Lord in many capacities including; Ward RS President, Stake RS President (twice), Ward YW President (twice), Stake YW President, Central Utah representative for the Lambda Delta Sigma Sorority and an ordinance worker in both the Manti and Provo Temples. She founded the Manti High Booster Club, and worked for many years at the Central Utah Health Department.
In life she was inspiring and a friend to all, and when faced with death she was faithful and courageous. She was truly an angel on earth and will be greatly missed by all those who have been blessed to know her. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to honor her life on Monday June 22, 2009 at the Aspen Meadows 3rd Ward located at 1400 E. 1661 S. in Spanish Fork, UT. A viewing will begin at 9:00am followed by services at 11:00am. A memorial will be held the same day in Ephraim, UT at 3:00 pm in the chapel located on 100 E. 765 S. The Beazer family wishes to thank Merrilee Hiatt, and Dr. Teresa Werner and staff for their care and compassion in taking care of our mom.
