Shirley Ann (Joyce) Blanchard died 4-21-14, born 3-19-26. Prairie home at Rockham, S Dakota;only daughter of Donald and Rose Joyce; granddaughter of Michael and Rose-Ann Joyce, pioneers homesteaded Burdette, S. Dakota; great granddaughter of Mike and Catherine Joyce coming from Ireland to Springfield, Mass. And there homesteading and their nine children in Ripon, Wi. Her parents and 5 brothers preceded her in death. Married to Lonnie Blanchard 49 years. Graduated St. Lukes Hospital-Nursing School- Abredeen 1947. Her beloved Lonnie and children Rose ,Joyce Ann, Twins Pat and Mike also proceeded her in demise. She enjoyed family and all her ministries at St. John of the Cross Church and school, Sr. reading mentor, R.C.I.A. advisor, Eucharist minister, Lay pastor, small church traditional choir member, money counter. Survived by two sons Joseph and wife Cathy, Christopher and wife Laura, five grandsons, Shawn and wife Brigid, Dustin and wife Stephany, Cody, Christopher Donald and life partner Jason Turner, Jeremy Jake and four great grandkids Kyle and Samuel Keen, Alanna and Dustin Blanchard. Funeral mass will be at St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove,Ca. @ 11:00AM and interment will follow at Holy Cross, San Diego @ 12:30PM on May 9th.
