Shirley Rae Englund

Shirley Rae Patterson Englund spent her 65th birthday returning home to her Father in Heaven. She died peacefully in her sleep on July 13, 2009 in the home she loved so much.
Shirley was born to Elmo and Ivy Patterson on July 13, 1944. Their first and only girl, Shirley brought them joy and happiness. She married Chris Englund, the love of her life, on July 1, 1962. Her family and friends have all been blessed by her great service. She loved her church and spent many years volunteering with the teenage girls. She was an advocate for children her entire life serving in the Headstart program for disadvantaged children and as a PTA President. She loved her work for Utah County Planning Commission and made many life-long friends there over the 20 years she worked as an administrative assistant.
She is survived by her parents Elmo and Ivy Patterson, brothers Bob and Jack Patterson, husband Chris Englund, children Lori Vaterlaus (Michael), Shelene Haymond (Creed), Ryan Englund (Kacey), Mindy Black (Todd), 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She joined her beloved angel child Melisa Englund in her Heavenly home.
