Shirley Mae Walton, "Miss Shirley", died on February 11, 2014. She was born in Tacoma, Washington to Elmer and Ione (Anderson) Swalley on July 5, 1943. Her husband was in the military leading her to travel the United States and Europe. He served 3 tours in Vietnam and was killed in action. The biggest heart to all she met, Shirley was an aide to the "Special Need Children" of Cache County Schools, working on the buses for 21 years. An avid reader, Shirley loved flowers, gardening, fly fishing, camping and being outdoors. She was an artist and fantasy cook. Her secret recipe chocolate puff balls pleased everyone who found their names on them. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Shirley was fully committed and gave her word, she never deviated. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the LDS church in Hyrum, 125 North 400 West. A time for gathering and sharing memories will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hyrum City Cemetery. Special thanks to the Dr. May, Logan Regional Medical Center, and Maudrena of social services.
