Siaosi "George" Likio Tuiasoa - beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. George returned to his Heavenly Father Friday, February 22, 2008 in West Valley City, Utah. He was born July 15, 1981 in Los Angeles, CA, to Latu and Filita Tuiasoa and was the seventh of eight children.
George was fortunate to be raised in love by two families and spent his early years with the Latu family of Hawthorne, CA. He was adored by them and traveled to many lands spanning from the South Pacific to Europe. Hailing from a musical family, George possessed a passion for music. He was an aspiring artist and lyricist. His music was a product of his self expression, hopes, and dreams. George was in the process of producing his first album. He fostered a love for all genres of music, and was most recently influenced by Kanye West's album, The Graduate, with his favorite track, The Good Life.
George's zest for life enabled him to live each day to its fullest. He had a lifelong love for sports, especially playing pick-up games of basketball. His favorite sports teams were the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia Eagles. George was a fierce and loyal friend to many and considered them family. He was devoted to his family and was the embodiment of love, perseverance, and charity. He was engaged to be married to his beautiful fiance, Ashleigh Jacobsen. His infectious smile and uncanny sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
From his Latu family George is survived by his mother, Tina Latu; sisters - Davelene Latu, Davette Na'a, Timieni Latu, Mele (Frisco) Pauni, Nancy (Naisa) 'Eliesa, 'Uotelose Latu, and brother, Mafile'o Latu. He is preceded in death by his father, Niua Latu. He also leaves behind his loving parents, Latu Tuaileva and Filita Like Tuiasoa; brothers - Wesley Tuiasoa, Stranz (Nia) Tuiasoa, Joe (Vai) Tuiasoa, and sisters - Kauata (Tefua) Bloomfield, Christina (Kina) Fangupo, Barbara (Ofa) Lomu, and Fualupe Tuiasoa. He also leaves behind his fiance, Ashleigh Jacobsen and their expectant child, over 85 first-cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. George is preceded in death by his grandparents, 'Atonio and Mele Langi Tuaileva and nephew, Mosese "Baby Mamu" Lomu.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 2, 2008 from 7pm-10pm at the Kearns North Stake Center located at 5015 S 4660 W in Kearns. Monday morning services will begin at 10 am at 3300 S 4440 W in West Valley City. Interment will take place at Valley View Memorial Park, 4100 S 4335 W.
