Sondra (Sauce) Elaine Cravens

Sondra Elaine Cravens beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away July 11, 2024 in Provo, Utah. She was born December 22, 1935 in Los Angeles, California. Sondra grew up in North Hollywood, CA. She was the older sister to her three brothers Jim, Joe, and Mike Young.

Sondra attended Sun Valley Junior High where she was the schools first student body president. She graduated from North Hollywood high school and then attended Brigham Young University where she received her BA in Education. Sondra met her husband, Jack Cravens, while attending BYU and they raised six children in Granada Hills, CA and were married nearly 60 years.

Sondra had many hobbies. She loved reading, gardening, and was an excellent seamstress. Interior decorating was a passion of hers and our home was both stylish and welcoming. Sondra’s Christmas Eve parties were magical - set in traditions still carried on by her children and grandkids.

There are so many cherished memories of Mom. One of our favorites was when she and Dad would dance. They became a younger version of themselves when they danced together. Our family’s favorite playground was the beach. Sondra loved boogie boarding and continued the sport even as a grandmother.

Everyone enjoyed conversations with Sondra, she listened and gave sound advice to many. Sondra had a good heart and took in anyone in need with no judgment.

She was loved by many and we are all united in our our joy that she is reunited with her family again, but especially with Jack, who was the love of her life.

Sondra is also survived by her daughter Catherine (Stan)Cameron, sons Kevin (Crystal) Cravens, Ryan (Julie)Cravens, 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Jon Cravens; daughters, Tracy and Allyson Cravens; grandson, Beau Cravens; great granddaughter, Parker Jane Cameron; mother, Marjorie Young Reay; father, Clarence Young and brothers, James, Mike, and Joe Young.
