Darrell M. James passed away on February 12th, 2008 at his home after a yearlong battle with cancer. Jerry passed away in 1989.
Darrell graduated from West High in 1947. He served in Germany and North Africa with the United States Air Force. He then worked for Burnham's Flowers and General Electric, but was most proud of his accomplishments and awards he earned from being a salesman for 35 years with Nabisco Cookies. Liked or disliked Darrell was a fierce competitor and obtained many friendships. He loved his trips to Las Vegas and Wendover, was an avid Jazz fan, loved to go fishing, and bowling. He even managed to accomplish a long time dream of bowling the perfect 300 game.
Survived by 3 children: Maunie (Terry), Randy (Kristin), Douglas; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way. Brother Lee (Bonnie) James and sister Sharon (McKay) Leishman.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Salt Lake City cemetery on Friday February 15, 2008 at noon. Friends and family may call Thursday February 14, 2008 from 6-8pm at Butler 18th Ward (6634 S. Greenfield Way).
