Sr. Gordon Roger Reier

Gordon Roger Reier, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully in Draper, Utah, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, surrounded by members of his family. He was born on September 27, 1920, in Towson, Maryland, son of Anton Reier and Hannah Dilworth Reier. He married Nellie Elizabeth (Bette) Hinds on October 2, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland.
He was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Marine Corp on September 16, 1943 and served as a fighter pilot in WWII and Korea. He retired at the rank of LT. Col. in 1961 after 21 years of service. After serving in the USMC, he worked fifteen years for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller.
Gordon is survived by his wife, his four children, Roger (Janice), Martha (John Grill), Susan, and Robert (Melinda), ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grand children.
Memorial service to be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the Utah Veterans Memorial Chapel at 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
