Sr. Joseph Wayne Kunz

Our loving and sweet father Joseph Wayne Kunz Sr. passed away October 5, 2007 at the U of U Hospital due to complications from surgery and dementia. He was born in Magna Utah on 11-16-36 to Joseph Lehi and Neva Kunz.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Pauline Lavonne Kunz, and his son, Jay Roger Kunz. Dad has eight children: Sherile Rickman (Eddie), Jospeh Wayne Kunz, Jr., Glenn (GJ) Bell (Jean), Richard Paul Kunz, Jay Roger Kunz (deceased) (Katrina), Dani Lavone Moore (Jim), Marieanne Kunz, Vancel Gary Kunz (Traci), 26 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren. Dad has five sisters: Shirley Torgersen (deceased), Beverly Gailey (Magna), Cleo Kunz (Sandy), Janice Bates (Sandy), and Annette Potter (Huntington Beach CA). Dad has many other family members that will miss him dearly.
Some of his greatest joys in life were the family race car and races. Also he enjoyed the Christmas sing-a-longs with the grandchildren. Dad's highlight of the day was going to Brightwork Cottage Adult Day Services and doing activities with all of his friends he made there. A special thanks to Angie, Roni, Annie and Chris. He loved all of you so much.
One of dad's greatest achievements was that he spent 29 years with AA. We congratulate him for this. He was a member of the LDS Church.
A special thanks to South Valley Care Center and the U of U Neuro Critical Care Unit for all of their love and care they shared with our father. Kudos to them. Also an extra special thanks to Vicky for the years of home health care she has provided dad with.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 9, 2007 in the Glenmoor 5th Ward Chapel, 4881 W Cindy Lane (9610 S) South Jordan, Utah. Family and friends may call upon us for the viewings at the church, Monday, October 8, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday October 9, 2007 10-10:45 a.m. SereniCare, funeral directors.
