Sr. Nathan S English

Nathan S. English, Sr., 90, passed away on September 20, 2010. Nate was born March 11, 1920, in Memphis, Tn. and was raised in Hershey, Pa. He married his former classmate, Bertha Mae Lehman on November 29, 1941, and they resided in Hershey until the mid-60's. Nate worked as a civilian contract administrator for the Air Force and transferred to Ogden, Ut, where he retired in 1973. Nate had a bit of wanderlust and after retirement, Nate and Bertha moved to Texas and Idaho before they decided to travel. They sold their home, bought an RV and proceeded to visit almost every state, stopping to visit friends and family along the way. After their travels, they settled down in Florence, Az. After 58 years of marriage, Bertha died on March 3, 2000. Following his wife's death, Nate moved to Utah to be closer to family. Nate enjoyed projects, working with tools, raising canaries and bees, gardening, and of course traveling. He loved good food and music, especially the Big Band sound. His death was also preceded by his son Sam in 1985. He is survived by his son Tony and Cindy English of Gilbert, Az; his son Nate and Jane English of Lolo, Mt; his daughter Rose and Gerry Littley of Ogden, Ut; his son Tom and Judi English of Weiser, Id, and his daughter, Judy and Mike Cracas of Brigham City, Ut. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. His brother Joe English, and a sister, Norma Galipo of Hershey, Pa also survive him. The family would like to thank Hospice of Utah for their thoughtful care of Nate. A memorial service and burial will take place at a later date in Hershey, Pa.
