Steven Clay Carroll, 36, of Clearfield, Utah passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 of complications from pneumonia. He was born on August 27, 1972 in Alajuela, Costa Rica to C. Ronald and Barbara Morse Carroll Bentley. Steve graduated from Smithtown High School in Smithtown, New York. After graduation he served his country in the United States Navy. Steve married Jenny Carrillo in Salt Lake City in June 1995. He was working as a Supervisor at RC Willey. Steve was a loving father to all his children and was especially active as "Owen's Voice" with Autism Speaks, a national organization whose goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. He is survived by his wife, Jenny; children, Mason (14), Alicia (11) and Owen (8); mother, Barbara Bentley; sister, Jocelyn Bentley-Prestwich; stepfather, Glenn Prestwich; stepmother, Carol Hoffman; brother, Matthew Carroll; and sister, Ellinore Carroll. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at the Red Butte Garden, University of Utah 300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City.
