Stig Mikael Stenfors

Stig Mikael Stenfors, age 78, finished his mortal mission on June 24, 2010. Born to Berndt Mikael Stenfors and Emilia Sofia Wahlstedt on November 28, 1931 in Siuntio, Finland, he was their pride and joy as their only son. He loved learning, eagerly following his passion of education by attending Helsinki Business College and received a Bachelors Degree in Economics. While in Finland, he was introduced to the LDS faith by the Mormon missionaries and was baptized in 1955. After immigrating to the United States in 1958, he met his soul mate and they were sealed for time and all eternity on October 9, 1965 in the California, Los Angeles LDS Temple. He is survived by his eternal companion, Sisko Anita, and children Christina (Michael Stark), Miriam (Christopher Rothey), and 3 grandchildren, Sten (his namesake), Victoria, and Ryder. A faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stig was always ready to share the gospel to anyone he met. An example of warmth and genuine friendliness, he had a sincerity about him and always wanted to get to know each person's background that he had the pleasure of meeting. His love for everything life had to offer will be missed, but we know that he now has the opportunity to share the things we loved about him with others beyond the veil. Funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel located at 10885 S. Pampas Way (837 E) in Sandy, Utah on Tuesday, June 29, at 11:00 am. Condolences will be received from 10:00 - 10:45 am. Interment: Sandy City Cemetery.
